Registration process and fees

Registration process

A maximum of 30 participants can be accommodated.

To apply, you must complete the online Pre-registration form.

Applications will be selected by the scientific committee of the summer school. You will be notified of your acceptance by e-mail, with instructions for online payment.

Registration fees

Early birds (pre-registration before 15 April, 2019): 1100 € (VAT included)
Later pre-registration (between 15 April and 27 May): 1 300 € (VAT included)

Optional day trip rate: 120 € (VAT included)

This amount covers the following costs: registration, food & accommodation, field trips & sightseeing tours, and round trip from Pisa or Florence airport.

Scholarships

Two full scholarships will be provided to participants from developping countries.

To apply, please send a resume and a motivation letter  to SS-Syst-Exp@inra.fr before 15 April.

Applications will be selected on the basis of living costs in the country of the concerned organization, and relevance of the pedagogical objectives of the summer school to professional objectives of applicants. Selected applicants will be notified by e-mail on 20 May.

The venue

The summer school will take place at SIAF International School for Advanced Education, in Volterra, Italy.

Participants will be accomodated on site.

Facilities include an open air swimming pool, tennis court/sports ground and gym.

Day trip in Florence

A day trip in Florence will be organized on Sunday 23 June depending on the number of  interested participants.

Santa Maria del Fiore

Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral

- Arrival in the evening of the 22d at the hotel Ferdinando II de’ Medici in Florence
- Meeting at 8:30 am at the hotel reception (4-hour excursion, take walking shoes, it can be hot, be dressed in an appropriate way)
- Guided walk through Florence with comments on the following points:
         Santa Maria del Fiore
         Basilica di Santa Croce
         Piazza della Signoria
         Palazzo Vecchio
         Basilica di Santo Spirito
         Palazzo Pitti
- Guided tour of the Galleria degli Uffizi
- Lunch in the Trattoria Anita
- Free afternoon in Florence
- Meeting at 5:45 pm in LUNGARNO DELLA ZECCA (departure at 6 pm for the airport to pick up the other participants)
- Arrival at 6:30 pm at Florence airport
- Departure at 7 pm for SIAF
- Arrival at SIAF around 8 pm; check-in and dinner at SIAF

Optional day trip rate: 120 €
This rate includes the night in a hotel, the guided tour in the morning, the entrance to the museum, lunch, and pick-up to join the SIAF (with a stop at the airport to pick up the other participants).
The price is as follows: 60€ for the hotel, 20€ for the meal, 15€ for the museum entrance, 25€ for the guide and return to the airport.
